CMS Or Content management systems and e-commerce platforms are one of the most popular and widely used systems on the internet. Almost every website and social media platform have some version of the systems used. Some of the really big corporations such as Facebook and Twitter have their own custom custom-made program system which is maintained by numerous developers and programmers at any given time.

Systems such as WordPress are very common for the average users as well as for highly Advanced users such as Huffington Post and other giant organizations. The main reason for this is that they are open-source platforms. The thing about open-source platforms is that it’s being maintained and updated by a large group of programmers at any given time and anyone is allowed to join in and it is maintained by this group of programmers to keep the software updated and relevant. The software are commonly funded by donations and sometimes even the bigger corporations donate money to keep these platforms going.

CMS systems like WordPress are very popular. They have a front-end which the average user online can see and a Back End which allows an Admin and multiple editors to go in and edit the website as well as add in Contents such as pictures and video.

Since WordPress is so widely used an open-source it allows for countless amounts of other open-source software to be made which are called themes and plug-ins. These are software that can be paid or unpaid which allows WordPress to be extended beyond its original boundaries to make almost anything you can think of. One such thing would be a membership system. All the way to do a membership system would be it’s a take a regular website and you would need to build custom build a database in the front end of the website To be able to take in the data and make sure nothing interferes and then take payment systems and make everything work seamlessly while showing hidden content when the person lives in.

All this complicated setup is completely taken care of by the open-source software which houses the main framework of the website and the plugins which is stored in the database so there’s very little that the admin has to do directly unless it is needed. This frees up a mass amount of time so the programmers and content creators can focus on creating content instead of struggling with code and trying to keep everything working correctly. This also helps with updates because word press in its current format automatically updates in the background so the website stays current in up to the highest security standards available at the time.

And doing this also helps avoid any hacking which tends to happen once in a while with open-source systems but having thousands of people working on these systems at any given time it shortens the time for patches to patch up the vulnerabilities of a website.

CMS systems like WordPress can also be transformed into other types of CMS systems through plugins such as woo-commerce which allows the WordPress platform to become a store website or allowing membership levels  for the website

Another type of system that falls into a similar category to CMS systems is the e-commerce system. The eCommerce system is more commonly seen as a store website. But it is mainly focused on selling products instead of creating posts similar to WordPress. These e-commerce platforms can do pages with text and images but their main focus is strictly selling products or digital items. with these e-commerce platforms, a large requirement for using them is to have an SSL certificate. The SSL certificate is not needed for transactions that prevent it from providing an encrypted layer or Security on top of the data Transmissions back and forth between the customer and the website. This in turn helps the website have less of a risk of being compromised so it cannot get hacked very easily.

These types of platforms as well as CMS systems for constantly evolving 4 new systems that are trying to use them such as the new emerging VR Headset Market. With VR headsets websites will probably have to be made differently to accommodate everything being 3D. This might also mean somewhere along the way comment store sites will have to end up having 3D items incorporated into them to show off products and become more Interactive. The main thing is that many of these e-commerce platforms such as woocommerce or Magento or Shopify or the many other ones out there are constantly being updated or upgraded to try and get ahead of the latest trends in technology.

The future for cms systems is unpredictable as these systems are constantly in flux. The fact that everything transitioned from desktop to laptop to everything being rapidly formatting for mobile devices as the screens are much smaller and now the emerging VR headset Revolution that is starting to happen everything is going to be slowly changing again. and as it happens our definition of what design and how web pages are shown will change in the fall from flat sweets to possibly a 360-degree Interactive room where you can see Products near Rapid things and someone wants to buy something.
